BT014
(updated Aug 2004)
Our
review on the newer Bridgestone to replace the BT010 is very limted. This
is because we have only sold a very low number, as they remain 'top' money.
Currently, the market-place has many alternative tyres offering exceptional
performance at much more reasonable prices. We don't predict many reviews
from customers until those prices drop.
BT014
is the OE fitment for the Suzuki GSXR 1000 K5, and so far the only
criticism's are the slow warm up and low mileage.
When
used on the track (and when you have got some heat into them) for the
first nine or so laps they feel fine, and then with no warning they
become a little loose on the rear end on some of the faster bends.

BT
012ss
(New Dec 2002)
So far we've sold a very small number in comparison to other brands. Talking
to other dealers, they are experiencing the same very low sales, so where
the product of year award comes from with MCN we don't know. The limited
reports back are very good though. The main fitment that seems popular
at the moment is the 012ss front and standard 010 rear.

The BT 020.
Update
March 2002.
The 020 continues
to be a best seller, especially with the last summers and this years parallel
import import situation, they've never been cheaper!
We're now compiling some consistent comments with respect to particular
bikes.
- Pan European riders aren't happy with their fitment when compared to
the original BT57's, with the front end becoming vague.
- Some high powered super sport bikes that were looking for significant
mileage increase (due to everyday use), have complained specifically of
rear wheel spin and lack of traction in wet weather!
- A number of heavy weight older machines have mentioned the odd wear
pattern of the front tyre and the consequent loss of handling way before
the tyre was near its wear bars.
.
We have just one main observation over the last month and that is the
020's ability to pick up numerous punctures. We're not sure whether it's
just the number of bikes on the tyre or that they are actually puncturing
very frequently!
This recent addition to the Bridgestone range was targeted at the Sports
Tourer market, specifically to replace the BT54, BT50 and the ever popular
BT57. All the feedback we are receiving is positive from both the grip
and wear rate perspective. The most popular fitments have been to ZZR600
and 1100. So far there isn't a fitment for the older Bandit 600 which
seems odd, but I'm sure this will be addressed soon. Once again Bridgestone
seemed to have studied the consumer needs and produced the appropriate
product to fulfill this need.
We're now fitting the 020 to numerous different bikes, i.e. CBR600's,
GSX750's, VFR750's, VFR800's and many different Triumph and BMW models.
Nothing but good comments are being relayed back to us.
We've recently just had our first 10000 mile BT 020 come in on a Triumph
Sprint 955 and a 4000 mile fitment to a Honda Deauville that looked just
scrubbed in!

BT45.
What can I say ! The
'45' is easily the best selling mid range cross ply. It combines a deep
tread, dual compound, wet weather performance with good handling. We've
seen figures recently indicating that the H rated model commands 50% of
the UK market place (impressive). Examples of typical bikes are the GS500,
Bandit 600's, ER5's or Diversion 600's.
I have only one critism,
and that is that the V-rated (higher speed) version does not seem to live
up to its H rated brother. (according to my customers). However, the examples
I've seen ideally require a radial fitment in my opinion anyway (i.e.
Diversion 900).
