Enduro

This is Michelin's premier league competition enduro/green laning tyre. This rear coupled with either the Enduro Comp 3 or the newer Comp 4 front makes probably the best tyre combination available at the moment. Basically, you've got a motorcross style tread taken from the successful 'Starcross' range and a fantastic wear rate all put together in a road legal tyre (we still can't believe it's legal!).

The rear size available is the 120/90-18, but this will fit all those needing a 140/80-18. The only problem currently is supply from Michelin, but this is to be expected.

The MT21's

Pirelli's MT21 are also a road legal enduro tyre. However, compared to the Gritty's their probably not as competant off road. But, the wear rate is known to be considerably better as is the general road ability and handling. We've mainly fitted them to either heavy weight off roaders such as the TT600 or at the other end of the scale, small capacity 125's looking for competant off and on road use.

Bridgestone TW301/302.

These have gone down well on numerous smaller capacity trail bikes, including CRM 250's, DR350's and KDX250's. We've been fitting them to the rider who requires a relatively hardy tyre for everyday road riding and the weekend wander onto a relatively non-technical green lane.
Specifically, they've been noted for being good in the wet (on tarmac), good for overall feedback to the rider despite a knobble pattern (the paw print) and fair on wear rate.
Negatively, they do wear oddly with constant road use, as do all trail tyres as far as we know.

Good value for money overall, but not up the rigours that the competant green lane rider would expect.

 Conti Escape

This tyre offered by Continental has proven popular with the larger capacity trail bikes, including the Africa Twin and Dominator. The pattern is for soley on road riding, with the pattern allowing a minimal flex between the treads and therefore placing a larger amount of contact patch. We've only had positive feedback.

The price is also markedly cheaper than the nearest competitors.

                  'Anakee'

The tyre to replace the T66! The T66 has fallen out of favour with the big tralies over the last year or so, with many riders choosing the elusive Metzeler Tourance. Riders are claiming the Metzelers are better in the wet and that the T66's give no confidence under the same conditions.

Michelin have theoretically took this viewpoint on board by creating a new tyre to tackle these critisms. Initial reports back are mainly positive, but sensitive to pressures has been mentioned by a GS1100 rider. They are now widely available in all common trail sizes.
Metzeler Tourance.

These are now coming as original fitment to the 1150GS. As mentioned above, some people prefer these to the Michelins and others prefer the Michelins.

We rarely sell them due to the constant unavailability. T66's need to be hunted down also once the season is full swing.

TKC 80.

Unfortunately, the picture doesn't give the Continental tyre any justice. The knobble pattern is deep and reasonably spaced, therefore enabling both off road and road competancy. Any boggy stuff does clog the pattern almost immediately, but dry loose riding and averagely wet terrain is no problem.

We've found they've suited the heavier trail bikes that aren't going to necassarily see the major bog type riding (e.g. dominators, Africa Twins, Super Tens etc..). Recently, a customer bought a set to tour Morroco following a favourable review in TBM.
